How I Edit My Photos

I know this post isn’t exactly Health and Wellness related but for those of you who are following me on Instagram I know that this has been highly requested. So, I have decided to answer the requests of my people and write a post about it for all of you! Plus if you have a Health and Wellness account I would love to help you out. Lastly, be sure to tag me in your posts @gracecswain to be featured 🙂

For all of my photos I use presets. Presets are filters that you can apply over all of your photos with a program called Lightroom. The reason why I use these filters instead of the Instagram filters is because they don’t just lay over your photos, they work with the shadows and colours and add depth to your photos. They have helped me made my photos look more vibrant. These presets I bought online.

How I added the hearts and stars is with an app on my phone called Bokehful.  Bokehful automatically generates the size and opacity of the shapes. However, if you want to be able to format your shapes more precisely then I would also recommend using the app BokehCamFX. Both are great, it just depends on how much time you wish to spend on the Bokeh and what effect you are going for. I also whiten my teeth and fix blemishes with the app Facetune.

I added in the ‘sun’ in the top right corner using Facetune as well. I used the ‘Light FX’ icon at the bottom of the app. Other apps I use to add light effects is Lens Distortions and Brillar.

For this photo I just used a preset in Lightroom and increased the brightness. If you would like a tutorial on how I use Lightroom leave a comment down below 🙂

To add the sparkles, I used a few different apps. I use the app ‘Picsart‘ and use the tool ‘brushes’ in the app to draw in the glitter dots. Another option, is to use A ColorStory and the effect ‘texture’ and use ‘Spell’ under texture to do a filter of glitter over the entire image. (ColorStory –> texture –> Spell)

To add the yellow glitter around the crystals I use the app PicsArt and go under brushes and select this style. (PicsArt –> Brushes) I also used that app to add in the glitter you see in the image above.

To format my photos I use an app called Preview. This helps me organize and see how I would like my photos to look. I would recommend picking a colour scheme, and theme for your Instagram. For example, I use warm colour tones, focus on health and wellness/ positivity and use oranges and whites. The way I decide how to layout my photos is by usually alternating between a darker orange image and a whiter one.

To create this photo with the ‘moving snow’ in the background, I added in the snow in the certain spots with the app Picsart under brushes. I then used the app Plotaverse to make the snow move. If you would like a more in-depth tutorial on how I used Plotaverse comment down below.
